Striborg with KAARST and Caustic Grip at Old Bar Morbid Mondays 8th April 2024
Crucible and Old Bar Morbid Mondays presents
Striborg
Striborg originally began as early as 93/94 under the name ‘Kathaaria’. Changed name and direction in 97 as ‘Striborg’, incorporating black ambience and at times industrial / power electronics. By the turn of the millennium Striborg was mellowing into a more epic and DSBM oriented act. 2017 saw a huge shift into an unknown genre…
Blackwave. The idea was to combine 80s synth-pop / contemporary darkwave / electro and the atmosphere of black metal. It’s now 2024. Striborg is now venturing into the realm of industrial, new wave, synth-pop, dream pop, psychedelia and shoegaze.
KAARST
Since emerging in 2022, with the debut 7" "Prayers" and a string of live performances, including supporting some of most revered acts across genres (Perturbator, HEALTH, Striborg, YLVA), KAARST have continued to evolve and expand on their dark/electronic atmosphere over the past year, converging elements of post-punk, EBM & synth-wave while revelling in the spaciousness between. The ominous, doom-adjacent "Underneath The Blood Moon" and the recently released, contrasting 2-track "Soft Skin / Rains" have captivated audiences with a trek through heavy industrial sounds & soaring post-punk anthemic hooks. The duo of Sam Haven & Scott Curtis behind the "Crucible" independent label deliver a powerful live performance, culminating a multitude of influences, solidifying KAARST as one of Australia's most exciting new acts not to be missed. New single ‘The Blinding Black’ coming very soon…
Caustic Grip
Caustic Grip is the EBM /INDUSTRIAL solo project of Naarm based trans musician Scarlett Shred. Generating pulsing, synth driven, aggressive electro industrial with big drums and heavy sampling. For fans of Nitzer Ebb, Chrome Corpse, Front Line Assembly, klinik.
